New Opportunities for Our Filter Solutions: Küfner in the EMC Sector
New possibilities for our filter solutions: Küfner specializes in EMC and designs innovative solutions to meet the demands of modern electronics.
The growing trend toward electrification is presenting many industries with new technical challenges. In the automotive sector in particular, the increasing number of electronic systems, high-voltage applications, sensors, and control units means that electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is becoming increasingly important. Conductive and metallized fabrics can be used to shield sensitive components and reduce electromagnetic interference.
This is exactly where we come in. Building on our many years of experience with custom filter and screen solutions, we are exploring new ways to integrate conductive plastics and fabrics into functional components. These include, for example, silver-plated fabrics as well as fabrics made of copper or stainless steel. Fine-mesh versions can also be used to provide high shielding effectiveness while maintaining low air resistance.
One unique approach involves combining metal mesh with plastic. EMC mesh can be overmolded directly during the injection molding process. This opens up possibilities for compact, custom-designed hybrid components. At the same time, breathable mesh can aid in heat dissipation, and a water-repellent version can provide additional protection against splashing water.
The potential applications are diverse. These include, among other things, the protection of radar, camera, and lidar housings; EMC shielding for control units and electronic modules; filter and ventilation solutions for electronic enclosures; and applications in the battery and high-voltage sectors.
At Küfner, our commitment remains the same: to offer customized solutions that are optimally tailored to the requirements of each specific application. In addition to shielding performance, we also focus on weight reduction, component integration, cost efficiency, and durability.
